Dinnington Town 3-1 Burngreave United

Dinnington Town climbed to the summit of the table on Saturday afternoon with a well-earned 3-1 victory over Burngreave United at the Blackout13.com Arena.

The result continued their strong start to the campaign and maintained their unbeaten run.

The first half saw Dinnington Town enjoy the better of possession and chances. Their persistence was rewarded on 32 minutes when Jordan Turner struck to put the hosts in front.

That breakthrough gave Dinnington Town the platform to settle into the contest, and they went into the interval holding a narrow but deserved 1-0 advantage.

Early in the second half, Turner doubled his tally and extended the lead, finding the net again on 51 minutes to make it 2-0.

It was his seventh goal in just three games since returning to the side, underlining his importance to the frontline.

Burngreave United fought to get back into the contest and were given a lifeline when William Palmer pulled a goal back in the 82nd minute.

Any hopes of a late turnaround, however, were swiftly extinguished. Just three minutes later, Evans restored the two-goal cushion with Dinnington Town’s third of the afternoon, sealing the win in style.

By the final whistle, Dinnington Town were celebrating another important three points at the Blackout13.com Arena, moving them top of the league and highlighting the momentum building around the squad as the season gathers pace.

Next up, Dinnington Town are away in the League Cuo to Woodhouse Colts on Saturday 27th September. Kick-off is at 3:00pm.
