Full Time: Worksop Town Reserves 1-3 Dinnington Town

Worksop Town 1-3 Dinnington Town

Dinnington Town produce a brilliant second half comeback to beat Worksop Town Reserves.

Despite falling behind in the first half and facing a home side that included five Step 3 Worksop Town first-team players, Dinnington Town showed real character, with goals from Connor Peace and Brad Kerr (2) turning the game on its head after the break.

There was a sense that Dinnington showed the hosts a touch too much respect in the opening 45 minutes.

Worksop’s early pressure eventually told, and they took the lead on 29 minutes, capitalising on a defensive lapse and their numerical strength in midfield.

But the second half was a different story.

Whatever was said in the dressing room at half time sparked a dramatic response and within a minute of the restart, Dinnington Town were level.

A neat move down the right opened up space for Connor Peace, who finished calmly to restore parity and swing momentum in the visitors’ favour.

At 1-1, Dinnington Town's goalkeeper Steven Booth produced two outstanding saves to preserve the scoreline. Those interventions proved crucial in keeping Worksop Town at bay.

And just five minutes later after the equaliser, Brad Kerr, the league’s top scorer, put Dinnington Town ahead.

On 72 minutes, the result was sealed. Kerr was on hand again, forcing the ball over the line as Cam Evans shot crashed down from the crossbar.

The chemistry between Kerr and Peace continues to blossom, with the pair looking like a formidable strike partnership. Their movement, understanding, and finishing were central to Dinnington Town’s attacking threat all evening.

As the final whistle blew, the result not only extended Dinnington Town’s unbeaten run but also reinforced their position at the top of the league. A performance full of grit, discipline, and attacking intent, especially in the face of a reinforced Worksop Town Reserves side.
