Full Time: Burngreave United 2-3 Dinnington Town

Dinnington Town made it four consecutive away victories with a dramatic 2–3 win over Burngreave United, sealed by a stoppage-time winner in a fiercely contested encounter that saw four red cards issued.

The visitors made a positive start and took the lead in the 12th minute through an own goal to go 0–1 ahead.

Burngreave United responded well and levelled in the 19th minute at 1–1, but Dinnington Town regained the advantage shortly after when Jordan Turner converted a penalty in the 21st minute to make it 1–2.

The game continued to swing, and in the 28th minute Burngreave were reduced to ten men following a foul on Jordan Turner when he was through on goal.

Despite the setback, the hosts found a way back into the match, equalising in the 33rd minute to send the sides in level at 2–2 at the break.

The second half became increasingly tense, with Dinnington Town looking to make their numerical advantage count while Burngreave United remained competitive.

The hosts’ discipline was tested further in the 74th minute when they received a second red card for a second bookable offence.

As the match moved into its closing stages, Dinnington Town continued to push for a winner, and their persistence paid off deep into stoppage time.

Jordan Turner struck in the 91st minute to secure a 2–3 lead and ultimately the victory.

The closing moments saw further drama, as Burngreave United were reduced to eight men in the 95th minute following another second bookable offence.

After the final whistle, a fourth red card was issued for confronting the referee, rounding off a heated contest.

After the game, manager Gary Eades praised his side’s efforts during a demanding run of fixtures:

“After four hard away games on the bounce and quite possibly our toughest run of games so far this season, I'm delighted with that outcome.

Four games in under fourteen days takes some doing with a depleted squad and the players deserve everything they have worked for.

It's a massive win against a very good Burngreave team who are always a tough test. We keep the pressure on, you never know in football, it's a funny old game!”

Next up, Dinnington Town play away to Ollerton Town in the league on Saturday. Kick-off is at 3:00pm.
