Full Time: Dinnington Town 2-0 SJR Worksop

Full Time: Harworth Colliery 2-0 Dinnington Town

Dinnington Town continued their strong Buckingham Insurance League Cup campaign with a composed 2–0 home victory over SJR Worksop.

With six changes made to the starting 11 following Tuesday’s fixture, there was a slightly different look to the hosts, but the early signs were positive as Dinnington Town settled quickly into their rhythm.

The breakthrough arrived inside ten minutes when Sam Eckhardt found the net to give the home side a deserved advantage.

Buoyed by the early goal, Dinnington Town maintained their momentum and doubled their lead just four minutes later, with Jay Atkin calmly converting to make it 2–0. His third goal of the season.

Holding a two-goal cushion, Dinnington Town managed the remainder of the first half with authority, limiting SJR Worksop’s opportunities and maintaining control of possession.

After the break, the game became more about discipline and game management.

The hosts remained organised defensively and showed good maturity to keep their opponents at arm’s length.

SJR Worksop attempted to build pressure as the match wore on, but Dinnington Town’s defensive unit stood firm to secure their 10th clean sheet of the season and see out a professional home victory.

With another solid League Cup performance in the books, Dinnington Town continue to build momentum as the competition progresses.

Next up, Dinnington Town are home to Harworth Colliery in the cup next Tuesday. Kick-off is at 7:45pm.
