Dinnington Town 2-3 Harworth Colliery

Dinnington Town were left frustrated on Saturday afternoon as they fell to a narrow 3-2 defeat against Harworth Colliery at the Blackout13.com Arena.


Despite a spirited second-half fightback, the visitors’ late double proved decisive in a feisty contested encounter.


The visitors took the lead midway through the first half when Dan Boulton struck in the 13th minute to put Harworth Colliery ahead.


Dinnington Town battled to find their rhythm in the gusty conditons but went into the break trailing 1-0 after a first half that offered few clear chances for either side.


After the restart, Dinnington Town began to impose themselves on the game.


Their persistence paid off when Jordan Turner levelled from the penalty spot in the 53rd minute to make it 1-1 and lift the home support.


The game opened up as both sides searched for a breakthrough. Harworth regained the advantage in the 74th minute before extending their lead eight minutes later to make it 3-1.


Dinnington Town refused to go quietly, and Turner added his second of the afternoon on 84 minutes to set up a tense finale.


Despite late pressure from the hosts, Harworth Colliery held firm to secure the win.


It was a battling display from Dinnington Town, who showed resilience and determination throughout the contest but were ultimately undone by key moments throughout the game.


Next up, Dinnington Town are away on Saturday to AFC Bentley. Kick-off is at 3:00pm.
