Dinnington Town showed spirit and determination on Saturday afternoon as they battled back from behind three times to earn a 3-3 draw against Kinsley Boys in the Camper UK Premier Division North, in a match full of momentum swings, key moments and late drama.
The visitors were reduced to ten men midway through the first half after a straight red card for violent conduct, but despite the setback it was Kinsley Boys who struck first.
Lucas Stubbs found the opener in the 39th minute, giving the away side a 1-0 advantage that they carried into half-time as Dinnington Town struggled to turn possession into clear chances.
The second half sparked into life quickly. Jordan Turner led the response, heading home in the 61st minute to bring the match level.
Five minutes later he completed the turnaround, applying a composed finish in the 66th minute to put Dinnington Town 2-1 ahead and shift the momentum firmly in their favour.
But the game took another unexpected twist as Kinsley Boys rallied despite being a man down. Bradley Dockerty equalised in the 74th minute following confusion in the Dinnington Town defence, and two minutes later Jamie Bettison struck to restore the visitors’ lead at 3-2.
During the third goal incident, goalkeeper Levi Owen suffered an injury that forced right-back Jack Cully to take over in goal for the remainder of the match.
Despite the pressure, Cully produced a couple of decent stops to keep Dinnington Town within touching distance.
With five minutes of added time signalled, the hosts pushed hard for a late response.
Deep into stoppage time, Jordan Turner rose again to head home his third of the afternoon in the 94th minute, completing his hat-trick and securing a dramatic 3-3 draw.
By full-time, Dinnington Town were left reflecting on a battling performance marked by resilience and late pressure ensuring they took a point and remained top after a chaotic but entertaining contest at the Blackout13.com Arena.
Next up, Dinnington Town are at home on Saturday to Elite AFC in the cup. Kick-off is at 3:00pm.
