Dinnington Town have another semi on the horizon after victory in the quarter final of the Abacus Lighting Fllodlit Cup over Harworth Colliery.
Dinnington Town produce a dominant display in front of their home supporters.
Harworth Colliery arrived having made a number of changes to their side, but Dinnington Town approached the tie with real purpose from the opening whistle and quickly imposed themselves on proceedings.
The hosts made the breakthrough inside seven minutes. Tom Bishop was on hand to finish confidently and give Dinnington Town a deserved 1–0 lead, setting the tone for what would become a one-sided first half.
Momentum continued firmly in Dinnington Town’s favour and Bishop doubled both his tally and the advantage in the 14th minute.
Dinnington Town maintained control of the contest as the half progressed and were rewarded again in the 27th minute. Nat Jessop found the net to make it 3–0, capping a commanding opening period and sending the hosts into the break with a comfortable advantage.
Emerging for the second half with the same intent, Dinnington Town continued to dictate the tempo of the game and ensured there would be no route back for Harworth Colliery.
The fourth goal arrived in the 52nd minute when Mason Barlow added his name to the scoresheet, extending the lead to 4–0 and effectively sealing Dinnington Town’s place in the next round.
It was a performance that would have tested any opposition, with Dinnington Town showing sharpness in attack and control throughout the pitch to progress confidently in the Abacus Lighting Floodlit Cup.
