Dinnington Town produced another powerful second-half display as they overturned a half-time deficit to run out 5-1 winners against Rossington Main Reserves at The Blackout13.com Arena.
In managers Gary Eades 200th game in charge though it was the visitors struck first just before the break, but a blistering spell straight after the restart saw Dinnington Town seize control, with Steven Taylor firing a superb hat-trick to add to goals from Brad Kerr and Corey Glaves.
Rossington Main Reserves stunned the hosts on 42 minutes when forward Dumitrescu found space to steer the ball beyond Steven Booth. It was a goal that gave the visitors belief heading into half time and left Dinnington Town with work to do.
But just as they had done in previous weeks, Dinnington Town responded in ruthless fashion after the interval.
Within two minutes of the restart, the home side were level. Kerr, leading the line with his usual authority converted a penalty on 47 minutes to bring his side back into the contest.
Moments later, Dinnington Town were ahead. A flowing move opened up space on the edge of the area and Taylor, showing his instinctive finishing ability, drilled the ball past the Rossington Main Reserves goalkeeper to make it 2-1.
With the crowd still buzzing, Taylor struck again on 51 minutes. His sharp movement split the visiting defence to give Dinnington Town a two-goal cushion. The turnaround was complete, and the momentum entirely with the hosts.
As Rossington Main Reserves chased the game late on, Dinnington Town added further gloss to the scoreline. Substitute Glaves scored within minutes of coming on in the 84th minute after, before Taylor completed his hat-trick in style just two minutes from time to seal a memorable afternoon for the player, manager Gary Eades on his 200th appeareance and the team.
