Dinnington Town continued their strong start to September with an impressive away performance on Saturday afternoon, running out 4-1 winners against Glapwell.
The game began with a setback for the visitors as Glapwell struck early, opening the scoring in the 6th minute to seize the advantage. That early goal threatened to unsettle Dinnington Town, but the response was swift.
Jordan Turner was brought down in the box, handing the visitors the chance to level from the spot. However, Glapwell’s goalkeeper produced a fine save, tipping the penalty on to the post to maintain the lead.
Dinnington Town regrouped and soon found their breakthrough. Nathan Jessop showed pace and composure, rounding the keeper and finishing confidently to level the contest at 1-1.
Not long after, momentum swung further in their favour as Liam Royles cut inside from the left and put his side ahead with a low finish at the near post. By half-time, Dinnington Town had established a 2-1 advantage and looked the stronger of the two sides.
The second half brought further control from the visitors. Jordan Turner, making amends for his earlier miss, extended the lead with a tidy finish at the far post to make it 3-1.
Any lingering hopes of a Glapwell comeback were extinguished when Josh Stead added a spectacular fourth, finding the net from distance to round off a dominant display.
By the final whistle, Dinnington Town were celebrating a convincing 4-1 victory, underlining their attacking depth and resilience on the road. With goals shared across the frontline, the result offered further encouragement for the weeks ahead.
Next up, Dinnington Town are at home at the Blackout13.com Arena to Burngreave United on Saturday 20th September. Kick-off is at 3:00pm.
