Dinnington Town fans travelled with optimism to Staveley Miners Welfare Reserves to watch Dinno in their latest away league fixture.
Hoping to see a repeat of their previous win on the road, their loyalty was rewarded as Dinnington Town notched up another victory and another clean sheet for the second consecutive away game.
The opening moments were competitive, setting the tempo for what would become a memorable outing for Dinnington Town's faithful.
It wasn't long before Ben Thornton provided the breakthrough. Capitalising on some excellent build-up play, Thornton finished superbly, ensuring Dinnington Town were duly rewarded for their positive play.
As the half-time whistle approached, both sides probed and pushed, but Dinnington Town managed to maintain their advantage.
In the second half, Dinnington Town emerged with a clear intent to consolidate their lead. The chance came when a challenge inside the box led to a penalty being awarded to Dinno. With the weight of expectation upon him, Nathan Jessop confidently stepped up and doubled Dinnington's lead from the spot.
The opposition, while showing glimpses of potential, found it tough to penetrate a sturdy Dinnington defence.
And as they sought a route back into the match, they left space open in defence. This proved to be their downfall as a pinpoint ball over the top found Jordon Turner. Turner skilfully chipped the onrushing goalkeeper, sealing a resounding 3-0 win for Dinnington Town.
Following two consecutive away victories and accompanying clean sheets, Dinnington Town are next in action on Saturday, 30th September, facing Kiveton Miners Welfare in the Sheffield & Hallamshire FA County Cup. Kick-off is set for 3:00 pm.
